Indian Wells 2016 - Week One
Practice, Press and Doubles
by MAC

At the end of week one (here in Europe) we've yet to see Rafa play singles.

So what have we had so far?

There have been lots of practice sessions with an assortment of players.

He's been fending off stupid questions from the press.

Last night he played his first (and, sadly, only) doubles match partnered by Fernando Verdasco. They lost to the Bryan brothers, 6-3, 5-7, 8-10.

He'll play his first match (against Gilles Müller) in the wee small hours of Monday morning, our time. It's been almost five years since he last played Müller so it's impossible to predict what way it will go. As ever, I will be nervous having sat through the first two sets against him at Wimbledon in 2011. (I didn't bail out - the rain came and put a stop to play overnight.)

¡Vamos! Rafa

Siempre contigo
